Man dead in Queens after apparent triple stabbing

QUEENS, N.Y. (WABC) -- One man is dead and two people injured following a triple stabbing Wednesday evening.

Around 6:30 p.m., police discovered a man who had been stabbed inside a home on 176th Street in the Springfield Gardens section of Queens.

They also found a 46-year-old woman stabbed multiple times in the torso, and a 25-year-old male stabbed in the torso. The suspect, a 27-year-old male, had been stabbed in the leg, according to a statement from the New York City Police Department.

According to police sources, the suspect stabbed his mother and brother, then himself. His brother is dead. No motive is not known at this time.

Ammad Simpson, a neighbor, was next door when the incident occurred. "I heard the screaming upstairs, then I heard silence," he said. "The cops knocked down the doors."

The two victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital where the woman is listed in stable condition and the man died. The investigation showed that the suspect stabbed the woman, then the man, then himself, the statement said. The suspect was placed in police custody and taken to Jamaica Hospital where he is stable.

Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing. The identities of the victim have not been released.
