NORTH AMITYVILLE (WABC) -- After about 14 hours on scene, Suffolk County Police finally wrapped up their initial investigation into a deadly shooting at Hollywood Mason Lodge No. 92 in North Amityville.

"There was a lot of people outside, pretty big crowd," said Bobby Benloss of the North Amityville Fire Department.

Benloss got a page around 2 a.m. Saturday about the triple shooting. When he checked the address, he saw that it was diagonal to his home, and was the first to respond. He saw three people shot, and immediately went to the most seriously injured.

"I believe he got shot in the chest, and the other two was in the leg," Benloss said.

A fourth man was injured during a fight that broke out in the parking lot, however the gunman fled the scene. Benloss talked to the man who was shot in the chest, but later died at the hospital.

"He was just saying 'please help me, please help me, where's the ambulance?' that's mostly what he was saying," Benloss adds.

Police had two cars towed from the scene on Saturday, but a neighbor tells Eyewitness News that there were dozens more parked there Friday night, as the lodge is often a packed hangout on the weekend.

"Sometimes they can get a bit rowdy, last night was kind of loud," says neighbor Darelyne Davis.

Davis is worried now, along with other neighbors who say the parties can go pretty late and be pretty loud, but have never escalated to this.

"I'm very disappointed - I hate guns, I really hate guns," Davis adds.

Eyewitness News knocked on the door to the lodge, and also rang the bell, but no one answered. A phone number for the lodge was also out of service.

So far, no arrests have been made.
