Manhunt for gunman in Queens shooting
Shirleen Allicot has the latest on a shooting in Far Rockaway that left one woman dead and another wounded.

FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens (WABC) -- Two women were shot, one fatally, by a gunman in Queens Wednesday morning.

The deceased victim, a 36-year-old woman, was found inside an apartment in a building on Beach 32nd Street in Far Rockaway just before 11 a.m.

Police say she had been shot in the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other woman, 51, was shot in the hand. She was found in the lobby and rushed to St. John's University Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect, who police identified as 29-year-old Tyquan Long, fled the scene.

Source says the woman who died was his girlfriend, while the other victim is a neighbor who, with her son, confronted the suspect prior to being shot.

At this point, no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
