UPPER EAST SIDE (WABC) -- Police in Manhattan say they have arrested the suspect who robbed and sexually abused a woman on the Upper East Side.

32-year-old Gregory Anderson is charged with first degree robbery and sex abuse.

The incident happened around 5 a.m. Saturday morning as the victim was walking along East 94th Street.

Police say Anderson walked up and grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground just after she crossed 2nd Avenue.

The suspect then forced the 36-year-old woman to walk further down the block where he stole $40 from her and sexually abused her.

She ran away from him and into a nearby store where Anderson was allegedly unable to find her.

Police released a photo of the suspect from a 2014 arrest for drinking in public.

Anderson was located, police say, thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip.
