Thief targeting Manhattan drug stores
Marcus Solis reports police are searching for a suspect in a string of burglaries at Manhattan pharmacies.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN (WABC) -- Police are searching for a thief who has been targeting a line of pharmacies in Midtown Manhattan.

The suspect has targeted at least six Duane Reade stores since the start of the year, including three times at a store on Third Avenue and 44th Street.

He uses a shopping bag, police say, taking over the counter allergy medicines and personal items, then stuffs them into the shopping bag and walks out.

The suspect has stolen at least $15,000 worth of merchandise, according to police.

In at least one of the robberies, he had an accomplice who also took medications.
