PELHAM BAY, Bronx (WABC) -- Police have made an arrest in a failed pipe bomb attack in the Bronx.

Police say 36-year-old Richard Laugel planted the crude device which was made from a pipe and two aerosol cans.

It went off underneath a car in Pelham Bay last Wednesday night.

The man and woman who were in the car were not hurt.

Laugel faces attempted murder and other charges.

The incident is being investigated as retribution for a prior drug deal.

The driver has known prior drug dealings and New York City Police Department investigators said someone planted this crude pipe bomb on his car for revenge.
