SOUTH OZONE PARK, Queens (WABC) -- Two people are facing charges in the fatal beating of a Queens bouncer who died while trying to break up a fight.

Dale Reid, who worked at Johnny's Restaurant and Bar in South Ozone Park, was beaten by a group of people around 1 a.m., and went into cardiac arrest.

Police say Deonarine Deoraj and Harrydat Nandalall, both of Queens, were arrested Saturday night and charged with manslaughter and gang assault. Deoraj was also charged with criminal possession of marijuana.

After the attack, Reid never regained consciousness, and police say he was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital. Residents say the bar is no stranger to fights and violence.

The Resorts World Casino is right across the street, so the neighborhood is used to seeing lots of late-night activity.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide, and three people are currently being questioned at the police precinct.
