Paramus police search for hit-and-run driver that seriously injured young woman

PARAMUS, New Jersey (WABC) -- Police in New Jersey are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene of a serious accident.

Investigators say a black Toyota SUV struck a woman in her 20's on Route 17 North around 8 p.m. Tuesday in Paramus.

The driver left the victim lying at the scene suffering serious injuries.

Police closed a section of Route 17 as part of the investigation.
