NEW YORK (WABC) --Stephen Sambu and Molly Huddle were the winners of the United Airlines New York City Half Marathon Sunday morning.
Sambu, of Kenya, won on the men's side with a time of 1:01:16 after finishing second in the race last year. The runnerup was fellow Kenyan Wilson Chebet. American Sam Chelanga was third.
The women's race came down to a photo finish, with Molly Huddle of Providence, Rhode Island winning for the second year in a row.
She edged out Joyce Chepkirui at the finish line by just .08 seconds. Huddle and Chepkirui went 1-2 for the second straight year.
Diane Nukuri of Burundi was third.
The NYC Half took runners from around the city and the globe on a 13.1-mile tour of New York City, and was seen live on abc7NY and Channel 7.
