Car crashes into building in Plainfield; 2 dozen evacuated

PLAINFIELD, New Jersey (WABC) -- A car crashed into a Jackson Hewitt business in downtown Plainfield, evacuating two dozen residents amid concerns of the building's structural stability.

The car crashed into the Watchung Avenue storefront just before 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver was not hurt.

As authorities evaluated the building, 18 adults and six children were evacuated.
