CLAREMONT, Bronx (WABC) -- Authorities have arrested the nephew of missing 69-year-old former nurse Patricia Myers, and have charged him with murder and manslaughter.

Andros Topping was arrested Friday night.

Myers was last seen in her apartment on Grand Concourse in the Claremont section of the Bronx more than a week ago. Police later discovered blood there, as well as the oxygen tank Myers needs to breathe. Myers' body has not yet been recovered, but there was enough evidence to charge Topping with murder.

Police have not released any further details.

The 37-year-old Topping, who police said had just moved in with Myers after his release from prison on April 18, allegedly told his brother he "did something bad." He had served the maximum sentence of 13 years for attempted burglary and felony assault.

He also served five years in prison for a robbery conviction, released in 2002. He has 11 prior arrests, and he was being held Friday on a parole violation.

Myers suffered from COPD and required oxygen daily.
