High school students take part in 'Hamilton Education Day'

Lauren Glassberg has the story of some hgh school students who took part in 'Hamilton Education Day.'

It seems everyone wants to get into see "Hamilton" on Broadway.

Some high school student not only saw the show, they even took the stage and showed off their own rapping skills to some of the stars.

They weren't the lyrics from the hit show "Hamilton", but students from Skylerville Prep High School are performing them on the "Hamilton" stage.

At the Richard Rogers Theater it was "Hamilton Education Day".

1,300 students from area high schools were invited to see the show, with a select number getting to perform their own original numbers.

From spoken word to singing to rap.

The show's creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and actor Chris Jackson emceed.

This is the second "Hamilton Education Day," it's a jumping off point for students to research history and present it in a creative way.

Members of the cast also spoke about their experience with the production.

Students said the day was a dream come true.
