Driver trying to escape slams into police cruiser

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (WABC) -- A driver's bad decision could land her in jail for decades.

The 23-year-old was pulled over for speeding in Milwaukee and sheriff's deputies noticed her license was expired.

She tried to take off, backing up and slamming into the cruiser, knocking two officers into oncoming traffic and even injuring her own passenger.

The woman was eventually caught and could now face 45 years in prison.

Her initial violation would have just been a ticket.
