JONES BEACH, Long Island (WABC) --Looking up or looking down, Jones Beach is ready to welcome you to a Long Island Summer.
Under the thousands of people looking out to the Blue Angels this weekend expected to be a while but their world famous human machine interface.
"We'll be doing loops and rolls and passes, a really tight diamond formation, we'll be breaking apart and coming back together, as well as the solos we'll be zipping back and forth," said Ryan Bernacchi, a Blue Angel.
Along with the sky thrills ahead is a celebration of the rebirth of Jones Beach State Park Thursday.
One improvement you can't miss is just underfoot at the Jones Beach Boardwalk, the governor says it was a childhood pet peeve!
"Remember the splinters from Boardwalk, those were not fun. Those weren't just splinters, they were large shards of wood that would go into your feet and be there for the entire summer," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.
Now it's made from a is a long lasting Brazilian wood that is practically splinter-free.
"It beautiful and it was an investment, but it's going to last for the ages," Gov. Cuomo said.
It's not just the boardwalk, the state has spent millions of dollars restoring buildings, even using technology to improve parking, and now local businesses are at the beach.
"I love Jones Beach, I grew up in Queens and we came out to Jones Beach every summer, this was the place. My kids will now have a Jones Beach that is better than the Jones Beach that we enjoyed," Gov. Cuomo said.
