FORT WORTH, TX -- A mother delivered her baby on her own, with just a 911 dispatcher, on the line for guidance.

It all took just 10 minutes, local station KTVT reports.

At first, Medstar operator Kate Gillinger thought the 911 call was routine.

Gillinger said, "I thought it was just going to be one of those we get there we transport and then we go to the hospital. But it didn't turn out that way."

Allison Marquardt had suddenly gone into labor. She said, "I called 911 and was like I don't think anyone's going to get here in time. It was scary."

Marquardt laid down on her bedroom floor as Gillinger began helping her through child birth.

She eventually delivered a healthy baby boy. Marquardt said, "I was a little freaked out, but there wasn't anything different I could have done."

Gillinger said, "She did magnificent. She was the perfect caller. It's good to know he's OK."

Marquardt and little Augustine are home and in good health thanks to the helpful voice on the end of a telephone line.

Marquardt said, referring to the 911 operators, "They're awesome!"
