Man wanted in attempted rape of 13-year-old girl in Bronx

In the Bronx Thursday, a 13-year-old girl was the victim of an attempted rape.

BRONX, New York (WABC) -- Police are looking for a man in connection with an attempted rape in the Bronx.

Around 1 p.m. Thursday, the suspect followed the 13-year-old female victim into her building's elevator near Jennings Street and Intervale Avenue.

He forced her into letting him inside her apartment, police said. According to the New York City Police Department, the suspect threatened her with a knife and demanded money.

When the victim told him she didn't have any, he placed some property inside her book bag. He then forced the victim to perform a sex act on him and tried to rape her.

Afterward he fled with the victim's book bag east on Jennings Street.

Police said the individual is described as a black man, 18, 5 feet 8 inches, and between 145 to 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants, black slippers, white socks, a light-colored book bag and he was carrying a red T-shirt or towel over his shoulder.
