TARRYTOWN, New York (WABC) --All lanes on the Tappan Zee Bridge are open ahead of schedule following this week's crane collapse.
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that all seven lanes will reopen to traffic at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
In order to minimize impacts to motorists during peak travel periods, expedited repairs were performed around the clock with roadway repairs conducted overnight Thursday into Saturday.
On Tuesday, traffic was halted for hours after a crane collapsed onto the bridge. Remarkably, no one was seriously hurt.
