Investigators say the suspect broke into the 29-year-old woman's apartment in Bushwick near DeKalb Avenue and Wilson Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Monday.

She had been sleeping when she heard her door being opened, and according to the NYPD, a man approached her and threatened her with a gun.

The victim told police he asked her, "Do you want me to rape you or kill you?"

They say he then tied up her wrists and ankles and raped her before fleeing with her cell phone and credit cards.

The victim was transported to Woodhull Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Detectives believe the rapist found the victim's spare key hidden by her front door and used it to gain entry.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early to mid 30s, about 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
