Suspect arrested in rape, robbery of woman in Bushwick, Brooklyn apartment

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A suspected sexual predator is under arrest, charged with a brutal rape and robbery in Brooklyn.

20-year-old Romaric Guiebre is facing a string of charges, including assault, burglary, grand larceny, and criminal sexual act.

Police say he raped a 29-year-old woman at gunpoint on July 25th, after forcing his way into her home in the vicinity of De Kalb Avenue and Wilson Avenue in Bushwick.

The suspect broke in at about 1:30 a.m. while she was sleeping, according to the NYPD.

The victim told police he asked her, "Do you want me to rape you or kill you?"

After raping her, police say he stole some of her personal items before fleeing.

The victim was transported to Woodhull Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Detectives believe the rapist found the victim's spare key hidden by her front door and used it to gain entry.
