LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- A 31-year-old man was shot and killed in an incident that his family says began when he mistakenly didn't hold a door open for a woman at a McDonald's in Las Vegas.

Mohammad Robinson died Saturday night.

KSNV reports an argument occurred after a woman told a man she was with about the perceived slight, and he reportedly brandished a gun and shot Robinson.

Robinson's daughter, 14-year-old Miniya Sampson, told KSNV: "It was a stupid reason, honestly, irrelevant. It doesn't make any sense why would you actually take someone's life over not opening a door."

Sampson believes her father died because of a misunderstanding.

"My dad would open the door and hold it for the lady but he probably didn't hear her," said Sampson.

Sampson told KSNV she was praying the murderer would be caught soon. The teenager said her heart will be forever broken.

"I love him," she said. "I wish he was still here."

A GoFundMe page has been created to help pay for Robinson's funeral services.
