Mom overdoses inside store with toddler in Massachusetts
LAWRENCE, Massachusetts -- A woman overdosed inside a store next to her 2-year-old daughter in Massachusetts.
The video was captured on a cell phone video, and is really hard to see.
You can see a 2-year-old girl tugging at her mother's limp body Sunday morning at a Family Dollar in Lawrence.
The mother had overdosed on heroin.
Police hope sharing this video will alert people to the horrific consequences of drug use.
Lawrence Police Chief James Fitzpatrick said, "It's very, very disturbing to see someone obviously in the matter of addiction, where it overtakes someone to the point where they're not able to take care of their child, leaves their child vulnerable."
The overdose antidote Narcan was used to revive the woman.
The little girl is now in protective custody.
