First responders surprise bullied young boy for his birthday
Police officers and firefighters in Illinois went above the call of duty for a young boy who was being bullied at school.

PEKIN, Illinois (WABC) -- It was a very special birthday for a young boy in Illinois.

Braden Garnett was diagnozed with Asperger's, suffers from dyslexia, and has a condition that causes the misalignment of his eyes.

He had his heart set on paintball for his 11th birthday party, but only three of his 36 classmates agreed to come.

So his mom reached out to her local police department asking for help.

Word spread and Braden ended up with more than a dozen police officers, firefighters and their families at his party.
