MOTT HAVEN, Bronx (WABC) --Two police officers helped save a toddler who had stopped breathing in the Bronx Friday.
Around 8:30 p.m., two New York City Police officers were patrolling in the Mott Haven neighborhood when they discovered a woman holding her daughter, and running and yelling for help in Spanish.
Police officers Felix Baez and Giovanni Laguna stopped near 138th Street and Willis Avenue, and found that her 1-year-old girl was turning blue.
They put the girl on the ground and began CPR, while calling for an ambulance. Eventually, the toddler's eyes opened and she had a faint pulse. The toddler and her mother were taken to Lincoln Hospital in the back of the police car as they continued chest compressions.
The toddler is stable at Lincoln Hospital where she is still being treated.
