2 hurt in Brentwood accident, Long Island Expressway closes

Two people were injured in an early morning wreck Saturday on Long Island.

BRENTWOOD, Long Island (WABC) -- Two people were injured in an early morning accident Saturday on Long Island.

At 5:27 a.m., police responded to the car crash in Brentwood.

According to Suffolk County Police, a sedan had flipped, with the road divider cutting through the middle of the car. A box truck was seen perpendicular to the roadway.

There were multiple injuries but two people were seriously hurt.

The eastbound Long Island Expressway was closed at Exit 53 (Wicks Road) in Brentwood.

All lanes had reopened by 10 a.m.
