WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, New Jersey (WABC) -- A car crashed into a house in New Jersey Monday afternoon.

The accident happened around 1 p.m. on Mountain Avenue in Washington Township.

There are no serious injuries, but the vehicle ended up completely inside the home.

Eyewitness News is told that the elderly female driver was backing out of her driveway when she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes and struck her neighbor's house, causing extensive damage.

"I walked out the back door, and at that moment I heard crunching glass and a loud bang and thought there was a car accident on the street," resident Nancy Haner said. "But the accelerator stuck on the woman across the street's car, and it went right through here and into my living room."

Haner's dog, a golden retriever named Bo, was in the room at the time, but he also was not injured. Haner will not be able to live in the home until repairs are complete.
