Suspect sought in Bronx deli slashing
The NYPD released video of the suspect wanted for a slashing at a Bronx deli.

KINGSBRIDGE, The Bronx (WABC) -- Police are searching for a suspect who slashed a teenager in a frightening attack at a Bronx deli, and they're hoping surveillance video will lead to an arrest.

The video shows the suspect walking up to the counter at the New Way Deli and Grocery on East Kingsbridge Road and Crescent Avenue in the Kingsbridge section just before 3 a.m. on February 21 and putting two knives down, stabbing one into the counter. Authorities say he then attacked an 18-year-old man who entered the location.

He then fled the scene.

The victim suffered a laceration to the shoulder and was treated at an area hospital.

The suspect is described as a black male last seen wearing a black jacket and a red baseball cap.

Police say they do not believe the incident to be a robbery or a robbery attempt, because the suspect was screaming something about his dog the entire time he was inside the store and did not make any demands from the clerk.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
