MORRIS HEIGHTS, Bronx (WABC) -- A gunman opened fire on a livery cab in the Bronx on Thursday afternoon.

It happened near Creston Avenue and East 183rd Street in the Morris Heights section around 3:50 p.m.

A 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were sitting in the back seat when they were shot.

Oddly, witnesses say that cab had no driver in it, just cruising down the block as gunshots rang out.

"Nobody in the front. Nobody in the front," said Evander Morfe, a witness.

They were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

A 28-year-old man arrived at North Central Bronx Hospital, he was shot in the chest while standing outside the deli.

Police believe he was an innocent bystander, but some witnesses say the gunman circled back and deliberately fired at the man.

So far, there are no arrests. All three victims are expected to survive.
