2 men wanted in robbery of well-known restaurant owner in Greenwich Village
MANHATTAN, New York (WABC) -- Police in Manhattan are searching for two men who robbed a well-known restaurant owner in Greenwich Village.
Police said just after midnight Sunday, 70-year-old Silvano Marchetto, the owner of "Da Silvano," which recently closed its doors, was choked and robbed.
He was walking into his apartment building on the Avenue of the Americas at the time, according to the New York City Police Department.
He suffered a fractured trachea after police said one man put him in a chokehold, knocking him to the ground, while the other took his money.
About $1,800 was stolen.
One suspect is described as a black man, last seen wearing a green hoodie, light blue jeans and black sneakers. The second man is described as black, last seen wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants, and white sneakers.
