Up Close: New ACS Commissioner David Hansell
NEW YORK (WABC) -- It's a cliché to say that children are our future. But it happens to be true.
Most children don't need the government to come in to protect them from their families.
But there are some who do, and they sometimes make headlines.
It is one of the most difficult stories we cover.
The government agency that is supposed to protect kids in New York City is the Administration for Children's Services.
And this last year has not been the best of times for the agency known as ACS.
This week, we'll talk with the agency's new commissioner who is trying to change things, David Hansell.

The couple's friends surprised them with an incredible decision that would allow the woman to have her own biological children, but her best friend would be birthing the child.
