NEWARK, New Jersey -- A suspected carjacker was killed in a crash in Newark on Saturday, prosecutors say.

Authorities say police were chasing a Mercedes SUV near 45 Holland Street at about 7 p.m. when it crashed.

Police say the car was taken at gunpoint on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The man killed has been identified as 18-year-old Quadir K. Jackson of Newark, according to the Essex Country Prosecutor.

Two other men have been charged in connection with the incident.

Mutah Brown, 20, of Newark has been charged with 2nd degree receiving stolen property and eluding.

Kevin Anderson, 21, has been charged with 2nd degree receiving stolen property and resisting arrest. Both are in custody.
