NJ girl eliminated in third round of Scripps National Spelling Bee

NORTH BERGEN, New Jersey (WABC) -- There's an update on the spelling be prospects of a bright young woman from New Jersey Eyewitness News did a story on last week. This girl has a passion for spelling!

Sadly, she was eliminated Wednesday in the third round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

But 11-year-old Naomi Castellanos of North Bergen still has a lot to be proud of.

The word that eliminated her was "Cinquain," which is a five-line poem.

Her little sister Zadie is also a great speller, so they both have next year's competition to look forward to.
