CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A man was shot and killed while he was pumping gas in Crown Heights on Saturday.

Around noon Saturday, the 46-year-old man was shot at a BP gas station on Atlantic and Utica Avenues, according to the NYPD. Detectives believe the man was targeted.

Two men walked up and approached the man as he was standing by his Silverado pickup. The gas pump was still hooked up to his pickup on the passenger's side. The men walked right up to the victim and fired a shot point blank into his chest. The entire incident happened so quickly, that it is not clear whether words were exchanged.

The victim then shoved one of the suspects to the ground, and they took off running in the same direction they came from. The victim did not go down at first - he stumbled around before collapsing. He later died at the hospital.

The suspects did not steal anything. Witnesses at the scene say they heard one single gunshot.

The man's truck has Maryland plates and appears to be a worker's truck with reflective vests inside.

Police are still searching for the two suspects - they say one was wearing a red shirt, and the other was wearing a black shirt.
