BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A candlelight vigil was held in Brooklyn on Tuesday night for a man who's in a coma as a result of an attack while he rode his bike.

Community leaders joined the family of 38-year-old Domingo Diego-Tapia in Bedford-Stuyvesant as they pleaded for anyone with information on who attacked him to come forward.

Diego-Tapia has been in a coma since he was punched in the face on June 8th in Prospect Lefferts Gardens while riding his bike home.

The victim fell off the bike and then stuck his head on the pavement as a result of the attack.

His wife, Esther Diaz, says each day is a tremendous struggle for her and their two sons.

"For me each day feels like a year," said Diaz. "I feel a storm of emotions in one single day."

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams announced he will personally write a $1,000 check to anyone who offers information that leads to an arrest.
