87-year-old man fatally struck by cab in Manhattan

MANHATTAN, New York (WABC) -- An elderly man died after he was struck by a yellow cab in Manhattan Sunday night.

Police say the 87-year-old victim was crossing East 5th Street and Cooper Square when he was hit around 9 p.m.

The 47-year-old cab driver remained at the scene until police arrived.

The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has not been identified

The investigation is ongoing.
