HOLTSVILLE, Long Island (WABC) -- On Wednesday, authorities on Long Island will speak out about the dangers of owning an illegal wolf, after one was turned over to the Suffolk County SPCA last week.

The wolf is now living at the Holtsville Wildlife and Ecology Center.

Wolves are wild animals whose behavior can be unpredictable and violent.

Suffolk County authorities are also planning an illegal exotic animal amnesty day on September 30th, when owners can turn over such pets without getting into trouble.
