NEW YORK (WABC) -- Former New York Knicks Coach and five-time NBA Championship winner Derek Fisher, along with multi-talented artist Jordan Fisher, took some time out to talk about competing on "Dancing with the Stars."

The show is gearing up to celebrate its 25th season!

Derek is paired with Sharna Burgess and says they will dance a Salsa as their first dance.

"We work hard, but we have a lot of fun!" Derek said. "She's an amazing dancer, she's an amazing coach, I told her jokingly, but kind of seriously, I probably should have had her on my staff when I was coaching with the Knicks and then I would still be there in New York instead of dancing on this show."

Jordan said that he and pro-partner Lindsay Arnold are dancing the Tango, and it's much harder than he expected!

"I've never felt more uncoordinated in my whole life!" Jordan said. "I think the challenge is for me personally, just like a professional athlete, you tend to be a perfectionist, you want to do well, and I think it's just a matter of being okay with not being great at it at first, and looking forward to the growth."

Despite the challenges, both hope that their fans can learn more about their dedication to trying their best.

"We all have a journey and we all experience things in life that only we have, and so I'm just looking forward to sharing a little bit of what my journey has been as a person before getting to 'Dancing with the Stars,' but also the journey that I'll go on and we'll all go on as the show unfolds," Derek said.

Despite sharing the same last name, Derek and Jordan are not related, but Jordan likes to joke around about their shared surname.

"If you don't know about my dad Derek, he's a great guy!" Jordan joked.
