3 FDNY firefighters injured in Upper West Side building fire
Sandra Bookman reports on a fire on the Upper West Side that left several people injured

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Fire in an Upper West Side apartment injured three firefighters Wednesday morning.

The blaze broke out inside an apparently vacant apartment on West End Avenue just before 3 a.m.

Heavy flames shot from out the windows until firefighters brought the fire under control.

Three firefighters were treated for minor injuries.

One went to New York Presbyterian Hospital and two went to St Luke's Hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
