'Scandal' final season aims for full-speed run over cliff
There will be no shortage of "Scandal" on the hit show's seventh and final season.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- There will be no shortage of "Scandal" on the hit show's seventh and final season.

Olivia is still involved with Fitz, but she is also serving as White House Chief of Staff for his ex-wife, now that Mellie has replaced him as president of the United States.

But in real life, the performers play very well together.

At the annual pitch by ABC to the network's advertisers in May, Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia, quoted "Scandal" creator and executive producer Shonda Rimes in promising to go "all out" for Season 7 saying.

"We are going to handle the end the way we like to handle all important things in our 'Scandal' family," she said. "Together, white hats on, gladiators running full speed over a cliff."

With Olivia Pope in the White House, a couple of her colleagues played by Katie Lowes and Darby Stanchfield are running her old firm.

"I'm her boss," Lowes said.

Stanchfield added that Olivia Pope and Associates, or OPA, is now called Quinn Perkins and Associates, or QPA.

For Lowes, art is going to imitate life this season.

"I am pregnant, and it's very surreal still even though I'm very far along," she said. "And Quinn Perkins is also pregnant, with her fiance's child."

Like Washington said, they're all running full speed off a cliff.
