Elderly driver, 7 others taken to hospital when car crashes into Long Island Wendy's

WEST BABYLON, Long Island (WABC) -- There were frightening moments at a Wendy's on Long Island on Saturday afternoon when a car ran backwards across Montauk Highway and slammed into the restaurant.

Police say the 87-year-old driver had to be taken to the hospital along with seven people inside the Wendy's. All are expected to be okay.

No charges have been filed, and there is no word on what caused the accident.
