2 hurt, 1 critically, in Staten Island crash
Two people were injured on Staten Island when a car crashed into a tree.

RANDALL MANOR, Staten Island (WABC) -- The NYPD says it appears speed was a factor in a crash on Staten Island that injured two people, one of them critically.

The accident happened Monday afternoon when the car hit a tree in the vicinity of Lois Place and Henderson Avenue in the Randall Manor section.

A 21-year-old male passenger was ejected from the vehicle and is in critical condition at Richmond University Medical Center.

The 19-year-old man who was driving the car suffered minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation.
