3 officers hit by fleeing car in East Hartford

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- East Hartford police say three officers have been struck by a car driven by a fleeing drug suspect.

Police say a drug deal was broken up in the area outside a Hampton Inn on Tuesday afternoon before the officers were hit. Officers fired shots at the suspect as he fled.

Authorities say the injuries to the officers are not believed to be life-threatening.

A suspect was reportedly apprehended a mile away.
