PARKCHESTER (WABC) -- A 3-year-old girl was abducted in the Bronx, allegedly by her mother's ex-boyfriend.

It happened on Haviland Avenue in the Parkchester section of the Bronx around 8:30 p.m.

The girl's mother apparently had a fight with her ex-boyfriend outside home. The mother says that's when he picked up the girl and put her in his car and took off. The girl is only described as Hispanic and 3 years old.

The ex-boyfriend is driving a 1997 white Nissan with NY plate EWV-8646.

Police say they are searching for a dark-skinned Hispanic man, 5'6-5'9" tall, with a medium build.

Sources tell Eyewitness News that police have the man on the phone and are trying to track him with cell towers. Just before midnight, there was still no update on their whereabouts.
