Arrest made in fatal FDR hit-and-run near East 29th Street

LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police have made an arrest in the fatal hit-and-run on the FDR Drive Friday.

34-year-old Mirsad Dzaferovic of Queens is now facing a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

29-year-old Anthony Pham was walking in the northbound lanes near East 29th Street just after 1 a.m. when he was struck.

He sustained head trauma and was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.

Police are looking for a dark gray, four-door sedan they said hit the man.

Northbound lanes of the highway were closed for the investigation.

It was not clear why Pham was on the highway.
