SANDY HOOK (WABC) -- The body of a man was recovered in Ambrose Channel off Sandy Hook in New Jersey Monday morning.
The body was found a couple miles off shore by a local fisherman at around 6:30 a.m.
The fisherman tied the body to his boat and brought the boat into the Coast Guard station at Sandy Hook, where it was turned over to New Jersey State Police, who will investigate.
There was no immediate evidence of a boating accident, and the discovery was not connected to any search and rescue operation.
