Burglar breaks into restaurant in Newark through hole in ceiling
Anthony Johnson reports on a burglary in Newark

NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- Police in Newark are searching for a brazen burglar who robbed a restaurant by climbing down through a hole in the ceiling.

On Feb. 22nd at about 5 a.m, police responded to a burglary alarm at Ambassador Fish and Chicken on South Orange Avenue.

Authorities say the suspect had entered the restaurant by climbing down through a hole in the 2nd floor apartment above.

He then stole cash from the register.

According to police, when the man entered the restaurant he was wearing a black puffy coat with a baseball-type cap featuring the word "Money" in multiple colors.

Once inside, it appears that the suspect had removed the black puffy coat and baseball cap and replaced it with a blue, skully-type hat with a pom-pom on top that covered his mouth and chin.

Inside, he was also wearing a thin jacket and dark gloves with white tips.

Cameras are located throughout the business, so an image of the suspect was available to investigators.
