Car crashes into business storefront in Brooklyn
Dray Clark reports on a drunk driving arrest after a car crashed into a building in Sheepshead Bay

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WABC) -- The front of a Brooklyn tax office was destroyed when an out-of-control car crashed through its front window Wednesday evening.

Police responded to the Federal Tax Masters office in the 2700 block of Coney Island Avenue in Sheepshead Bay around 6 p.m. to find the car completely inside the business.

The entire crash was caught on surveillance video, which shows the 2013 Mercedes barreling down the street, hitting a parked car, crushing a parking meter and slamming into the storefront.

Authorities say the driver, Yvonne Batiz, was driving under the influence. She has been charged with DWI and refusal to take a breath test.

She and a 54-year-old passenger in the car with her were taken to Coney Island Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The tax business had just closed about 50 minutes before the crash happened.

Fortunately, no one was inside. But the reception area was reduced to rubble, and there is no telling what kind of damage and injures there would be if the store been open at the time.
