FLUSHING, Queens (WABC) -- One child and two adults were hurt in a fire that filled a Flushing apartment building with smoke early Friday morning.

Flames broke out inside a first floor apartment at the Pomonok Houses on Parsons Boulevard around 1:30 a.m.

The fire was confined to one apartment, but heavy smoke filled a second-floor apartment above.

Three people inside that apartment were overcome by smoke and rushed to New York Hospital Queens.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in about an hour and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
