MIDWOOD (WABC) -- A woman was killed in an accident involving three cars in the Midwood section of Brooklyn Saturday at about 12:30 p.m.
What Ilya Bekerman actually heard was glass and metal breaking and bending as 3 cars collided here at the intersection of Avenue N and Coney Island Avenue.
Caught in the middle of the chaos was Galina Truglio.
"She was lying down on the floor, my god - blood was all over her. Scary!" said Bekerman.
Police are still investigating but in surveillance video obtained exclusively by Eyewitness News, the entire deadly crash takes just seconds to unfold.
First you see the driver of a black Nissan on the avenue stop at a red light. Then a few seconds later, at the same time, you see a Mitsubishi on the left, going East on Avenue N while a Ford comes southbound. Police say the Ford hit the fender of the Mitsubishi.
Both vehicles spun out of control, and the Ford slammed into Truglio before also hitting the Nissan. The 63-year-old was walking in the crosswalk.
Truglio lived not far from the intersection and was heading back to her apartment where she lived with her mother. Her husband died of cancer two years ago.
"She was a very sweet, lovely lady. She was so good, took care of her mother so well - unbelievable," says Truglio's friend, Blanche Lang.
On Sunday in the same spot, Eyewitness News watched the NYPED crack down on drivers, something people have been asking for some time.
Residents say at least once a month there is an accident or fender bender because everyone is always trying to beat the light.
