Exclusive: Cars flooded in Manhattan garage
Kemberly Richardson has exclusive video of scores of cars that were flooded after a water main break on the East Side of Manhattan.

UPPER EAST SIDE -- A water main break sent two feet of water into an Upper East Side garage Thursday, leaving scores of cars flooded.

Exclusive cell phone video showed how tons of filthy water took over the underground parking garage at Second Avenue and 57th Street.

One level up where the water initially poured in, there was a slimy, thick coat of mud.

"Came to pick up my car and this was the condition of the car," said Brett Brown, whose Mercedes was slightly damaged. "You could see that pipes have leaked all over the car because of the spots and stuff so I'm going to try to get it taken care of later."

Icon, the company which runs the garage, says about 150 to 200 vehicles, SUV's and sports cars, were all on two levels.

The company says when water suddenly gushed in, roughly 60 cars were damaged.

Icon says early Thursday morning, crews were working on the 58th Street side of the garage.

A generator kept pumps running inside the lower level.

The Office of Emergency Management tells Eyewitness News it did respond to a 'water condition', but it's not clear what caused the flood.

Most of the cars are monthly customers. Icon is in the process of reaching out to clients. The construction company admitted it was their mistake and insurance adjusters will take it from here.
