Fire seriously damages Connolly's Pub in Times Square

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A fire seriously damaged Connolly's Pub in Times Square Saturday evening.

The fire broke out just after 5 p.m. at the bar located at 121 West 45th Street.

It went to a second alarm before it was put under control at around 7 p.m.

The bar was evacuated. There were 2 minor injuries to a firefighter and a patron.

The fire started in the kitchen and spread up the duct work to the roof. There was fire damage on the 1st and 3rd floors and on the roof as well as a lot of smoke and water damage inside the building.

The restaurant will be closed until repairs are made.
